Victoria, Laguna. As early as December 2022, the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) thru its Negosyo Centers actively participates in the preparation of local government units (LGUs) in Laguna for the conduct of DTI-Laguna Joins Business One-Stop Shop, Facilitates Business Name Registration and BMBE Certificates of Authority On-Site (BOSS) this January 2023.

This is in line with the mandate of Republic Act 11032 or the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018” to streamline the current systems and procedures of government services. BOSS as stated in Section 4 of the said Republic Act is described as a single common site or location or a single online website or portal designated for the Business Permit and Licensing System of an LGU to receive and process applications, receive payments, and issue approved licenses, clearances, permits or authorizations.

As a kick-off event, LGUs in Laguna started the implementation of BOSS in their respective municipal buildings, including processing and release of DTI business name registrations and Barangay Micro Business Enterprise Certificates of Authority. Other government agencies also participated alongside DTI to ensure the streamlining of processes to encourage more business owners to fully register their enterprises.

From 3 to 6 January 2023, a total of 557 business name registrations (both new and renewal) and 75 Barangay Micro Business Enterprise Certificates of Authority were processed and released in different BOSS locations in Laguna and it is expected to increase in the coming weeks.

Below is the schedule of BOSS in each city and municipality in Laguna as of 5 January 2023 for reference. (IMFlores, DTI-Laguna)
