San Pablo City, Laguna. JCI San Pablo 7 Lakes will celebrate its 74th Anniversary on Saturday, November 12, 2022, 6:00 PM at Max’s Restaurant, San Pablo City.
This anniversary is not only a celebration but also a reunion of associate members who have returned from faraway places to reconnect in fellowship.
One of the highlights of this event is the recognition of the oldest active living JCI San Pablo 7 Lakes member, Senator Guillermo ‘Memo’ Almonte.
San Pablo Jaycees was chartered on November 13, 1948, this chapter of the globally recognized organization has withstood the test of time and is proud of its achievements and lagacies. It has produced several nationally known politicians and many successful entrepreneurs.
The celebration will be graced by Ms. Gem Castillo as the guest of honor. Ms Castillo is the common-law wife of San Pablo City Mayor, Vicente Amante, who along with his son, Congressman Loreto “Amben” S. Amante are the two primary sponsors of the event.
Coincidentally, the young Congressman is himself a past president and JCI Senator of JCI San Pablo Seven Lakes and so is incumbent San Pablo City Vice-Mayor Justin Colago, who will be in attendance at the reunion.
Other event doors include Past President Ronnie Carlos, JCI Associate Danny Andes and JCI Senator Jacie Gatchalian.
San Pablo City’s very own Past JCI Philippines National President PJ Estrellado will also grace the affair with his presence.
Since its establishment, JCI San Pablo Seven Lakes has proactively responded to challenges in the community, helping to generate awareness on important social and economic issues which have an impact on the daily lives of the citizens of San Pablo City. It advances its ambitious objectives by identifying the goals most relevant to their community, taking action, engaging stakeholders, and providing sustainable solutions.
“Reunions reinforce our common bonds, regenerate our friendships, and reinvigorate our spirits in appreciation of life’s different but parallel journeys. Our lives become meaningful through the impact we make on others, more so than living and working just for ourselves. As we grow, our passion has to inspire others’ passions and dreams. As leaders we have the opportunity to bring members together to do something that is bigger than they are as individuals,” according to San Pablo Jaycees Senate president JCI Sen. Marius Myrone S. Zabat Jr.
“As we mark the 74-year anniversary of this dynamic organization, we can take pride that we remain anchored by the core belief that faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life. JCI has equipped us with a sense of pride and breadth of knowledge and skill to provide a roadmap for future generations of JCI leaders. Reunions normally last only a day or two. By the time you wrap yourself in the good feeling of renewed camaraderie, it’s time to say goodbye. But merely the fact that many people have traveled from near and far to celebrate lifelong friendships that have common learning experiences and human value and the anticipation of meeting again make the time and effort well spent. It will provide a chance for us to catch up with old friends, get to know our fellow Jaycees as adults and reminisce about memories from our Jaycees days. This is why, to me, reunions are important and serve a vital purpose,” San Pablo Jaycee Leaders president JCI Senator Venus P. Funtanilla lamented.
The organizers of this 74th anniversary reunion includes Gerry Baldo, JCI Associates Efren Reyes, Johnny Wong and Romeo Lantin with the support and assistance of Zabat and Funtanilla.
JCI is a nonprofit organization of young active citizens aged 18 to 40 who are engaged and committed to creating impact in their communities. Active citizens are individuals invested in the future of our world. JCI gathers active citizens from all sectors of society. They develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to make informed decisions and take action.
