Valentine’s Day is an extraordinary day where we see expressions of love in various forms. Love is an amazing thing. Today we feature a story between Carel and Lea Rose. It’s a story about love and success. They not only love each other but they also have a mutual love for coffee that turned them not just as lovers but also as business partners.
The couple, Carel Javier and Lea Rose, run a small coffee business. They started Coffee Depot Ph in hopes to expand their knowledge of coffee and the benefits it gives in the long run.
Their products are sourced from Lipa, Batangas. Batangas is the home of the export-grade quality coffee of the Philippines which is named Liberica or formerly known as Barako.
Their Mission and Vision for their business is to provide excellent quality coffee to their consumers and teach them the differences of their coffee products. The couple uses online platforms to sell their products.
“We started this business by just rebranding products from coffee makers without knowing and understanding their origin and differences. We started with zero knowledge about coffee. Our first customers were family members. We had a hard time looking for new customers because they’d ask us the differences of the coffee we were selling and we could not even answer them properly. ”
Soon after Carel and Lea decided to study up and learn more about the different coffee products. They settled on a single supplier whom they felt provided the best coffee product in Batangas. Their business continues to grow. They now pack their own products. Unlike before when they really had to work hard to look for customers, people are now looking for them to buy their supply of coffee products.
The dou lovers are also civic minded. They are so excited and happy in the growth of their business that hey decided to share some of the growth they have achieved in 2021 by helping victims of typhoon Odette. They donated all the revenue gained from the month of December 2021 to the typhoon Odette victims.
Carel and Rose are people who we can call “Power Couple”. They prove that lovers can create great things like running a successful coffee business together.
