While I was pondering about the recently concluded elections, I kept myself busy re-potting my plants, cleaning the house, surfing the net and reading unfinished books I temporarily left to monitor what’s going on in the country. Those are the things a senior citizen can usually do to “kill” time aside from praying a lot for a longer life, good health, sharp mind and enough provision for daily needs.
As I surfed the net, I came across a letter that explains well about all the hullaballoos happening around us – the letter of a great genius Albert Einstein, to her daughter Liezel before he died. It was a letter worth-reading, worth-contemplating and worth-sharing to humankind. The letter talks about the “extremely unseen powerful force behind all the phenomena operating in the Universe.” And you know what that powerful force is? LOVE. Einstein said that this universal force is the “unifying theory of the Universe.”
Now I understand why the unity call of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte gain overwhelming support from the people. According to Einstein, it is also reflected in the Holy Scriptures, “Love is God and God is Love – the variable we have ignored for too long.” Perhaps BBM and Inday Sara must have read this letter of Einstein way ahead of their rivals, the reason why they did not engage in negative campaigning – a perfect strategy for winning the hearts of the majority.
Einstein further wrote that “the energy to heal the world can be obtained through love because it has no limits”. But sadly, it is “the only energy in the Universe that man has not learned to drive at will”. I am guilty! I can drive a car, I can operate an electric typewriter, I can run a motorized sewing machine, I can fire a gun but I cannot love enough to the point of forgiving those who hurt me. In the said letter, Einstein made a simple substitution in his famous equation E=MC squared, he wrote “that the energy to heal the world can be obtained by love multiplied by the speed of light squared”.
So, I am calling on the 31million Filipinos who voted for the BBM SARA tandem to spread LOVE because as professed by this great genius, ‘love bomb’ is the only “device powerful enough to entirely destroy hate, selfishness and greed that devastates the planet.” Each of us, according to him, carries a small but powerful generator of love which, if we can collate together, might change the current course of life and save the world.
The hatred, selfishness and egotism of the yellow-pink losers who never get tired of yelling on the streets the same old refrain of the CPP-NPA-NDF can be subverted and overcome by the genuine love we have for our motherland and its people. Let us now start multiplying love by the speed of light squared if we want to find the meaning of life and promote peace and order in our land.
