The first month of the year 2022 is almost over yet the pandemic still looms. It is sickening to hear news about people starving, losing jobs and eventually dying due to COVID 19. Equally appalling is the continued rise in the number of those infected despite the assorted vaccines procured by the government coupled with non-stop reminders for people to get vaccinated.
Yes, the government has done its duties and obligation to provide the people with vaccines for free and it has continually reminded everyone to get inoculated. The problem is some people are just too stubborn to listen to the call of the government while some political wannabes have the gall to say that there is a lack of information dissemination. How can one say that the information campaign is lacking when for two years, the government and the media have covered all avenues reminding everyone about the importance of the vaccine?
Anyway, some people are not really qualified or eligible to take the vaccine like pregnant women, people with medical problems, those with allergies and those not allowed by their doctors. Of course, this is understandable and we should not make a big fuss out of it. But those who simply do not believe in the existence of the killer virus or those who are afraid of needles need to be guided accordingly. Someone in their family must take the cudgel to convince them to get the vaccine, or else…
We as a people must cooperate with the program of our government so we can attain normalcy in the near future. We must obey the call of the government to follow the prescribed protocol which has been repeatedly being aired in the radio and on television. As a matter of fact, even the President during his regular ‘talk to the people’ is reminding everyone to submit themselves to the much-needed vaccine.
If those who are qualified will remain bull-headed and will not listen to the demand of the times, chances are we will have to bear with this pandemic for a long time. Do you like it? I don’t like it! I want a normal life when I can roam around without a mask and face shield; without having to wash my hands every so often; without having to carry alcohol inside my bag. I miss the times when I can freely go to a salon or call on my masseuse without fear of being contaminated.
Time flies so fast. Many of us are getting old and it’s so sad to ponder on the fact that the pandemic shall stay for a long time because the elderlies who are traveling their way into the sunset may no longer see the light of day at the end of the tunnel. At this point in time, just be obedient! Bear in mind what the President said last week that all the protocols were made ‘for the greater good of the greater number.’

I was born to write and I believe that’s my calling. I love writing because it brings me to the realm exclusively of mine. It is also my opinion that “immortality” can be achieved not by searching for the Holy Grail and drinking from it but by living your life worth-writing or writing something worth-reading. Since I cannot promise you a life worth-writing, I keep myself busy writing something worth-reading. I am thankful to God for giving me the talent and skill to see life in different perspectives not seen by many and the courage to share it to my readers. This first ever Tutubi Digital News Magazine is a perfect avenue to bring you the many facets of life that you can ponder upon in this time of the pandemic. Enjoy reading all the articles.
