Magtatrabaho sa Jordan ang 1,264 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) matapos muling buksan ang ekonomiya nito, ayon sa ng Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO)-Jordan kahapon.
Ayon kay Labor Attaché Armin Evangel Peña, sa ngayon ay pinoproseso na nila ang mga kontrata sa pagtatrabaho ng mga manggagawang Pilipino, kung saan humigit-kumulang 90 porsyento ang tinanggap bilang mga household services worker (HSWs).
“Of the number, 725 are new hires while balik-manggagawa (returning workers) are 539,” ayon kay Peña sa isang virtual forum, at idinagdag niya na na ang mga manggagawa sa service sector ay nagsisimula na ring bumalik sa Arab Nation.
adding that workers in the service sector are also starting to return in the Arab nation.
Idinagdag niya na mayroong panukala na itaas ang sweldo ng mga HSW mula sa kasalukuyang USD 400 (PHP22,000) hanggang USD 600 (PHP31,000).
“It must have the approval of the Ministry of Labor and the bilateral agreement. The PRAs (Philippine Recruitment Agencies) are one with us in pushing for the across-the-board salary increase here in the Middle East,” ayon kay Peña.
Simula ngayong buwan, hindi na hinihiling ng host country ang reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test na mga resulta mula sa mga fully vaccinated na arrivals.
“Those who are not vaccinated may be deported or fined,” ayon pa rin kay Peña.
