Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. Sumuko ang 13 sympathizers ng Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) sa Roxas, Palawan noong Lunes, Setyembre 19, 2022.
Ayon kay Police Regional Office MIMAROPA Director, Police Brigadier General Sidney Sultan Hernia, ang mga sumuko ay dating Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) mass base supporters at sympathizers na na-recruit sa pagitan ng Setyembre at Oktubre ng 2017.
Ang pagsuko ng 13 CTG sympathizers ay bunga ng pagsisikap ng Joint Task Force Peacock (JTFP) sa ilalim ng JTG-North/Marine Battalion Landing Team-3 ng 3rd Marine Brigade (3MBde) kasama ang mga tauhan ng 3MCIC, MCIBn; MIG22, NISG-Kanluran; Regional Intelligence Unit 4B, PNP-IG; at Palawan PPO Provincial Intelligence Unit, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, at Roxas Municipal Police Station, sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa Local Government Unit ng Roxas at mga opisyal ng barangay ng Dumarao.
Ang nasabing mga CTG ay nasa pangangalaga ngayon ng JTG-North/Marine Battalion Landing Team-3 para sa debriefing at tamang disposisyon.
“This accomplishment strongly reveals that the CPP/NPA has been remarkably weakened as a result of NTF ELCAC (National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict. This is why we are urging those who are still in arms to surrender so they may live a better life with the support of our government,” ayon kay PBGen Hernia.
