Calamba City, Laguna. Haharap sa kasong paglabag sa Article 117 (Usurpation of Authority) at Article 179 (Illegal Use of Uniforms or Insignia) ng Revised Penal Code, RA 3815 ang isang 36 anyos na babaeng vendor matapos siyang arestuhin ng mga miyembro ng Talisay Municipal Police Station (MPS) habang nakasuot ng PNP Uniform.
Si Vanessa Teope Mago, tubong Naga City, Bicol ns kasalukuyang naninirahan sa Brgy. San Isidro Sur, Sto. Tomas, Batangas ay naaresto sa isinagawang checkpoint operation sa kahabaan ng Brgy Tumaway, Talisay, Batangas kamakalawa.
Sakay ng motorsiklo ang suspek nang i-flag down ng mga opisyal sa checkpoint matapos makita na nakasuot ito ng olive drab shirt na may markang “Pulis, PNP Athletic Jogging Pants at PNP Athletic Shoes. Nabigo ang suspek na magpakita ng patunay na siya ay lehitimong miyembro ng PNP.
Sa beripikasyon ng Talisay MPS, napag-alamang may standing Warrant of Arrest si Mago hinggil sa kasong kidnapping at serious illegal detention atpaglabag sa PD 1829 (Obstruction of Justice) na inisyu ni Honorable Judge Pedro M Redoña, Presiding Judge ng RTC Branch 63, Calabanga, Camarines Sur.
Ang warrant of arrest ay isinilbi ng Talisay MPS at ng Regional Intelligence Division 4A- Regional Intelligence Team Batangas, Calabanga MPS, Camarines Sur (PRO5), PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group Luzon Field Unit 4A at PNP Maritime Monitoring Post, Talisay, Batangas .
Kaugnay nito, sinabi ni PRO CALABARZON Regional Director PBGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. na ang hindi awtorisadong pagsusuot ng uniporme ng pulis o militar ng mga sibilyan ay nasa ilalim ng Article 177 at 179 ng Revised Penal Code (RA 3815), na nagpaparusa sa “any person who, under pretense of official position, shall perform any act pertaining to any person in authority or public officer, without being lawfully entitled to do so”, and “any person who shall publicly and improperly make use of insignia, uniforms or dress pertaining to an office not held by such person or to a class or persons of which he or she is not a member.”
“Apart from these activities, PRO CALABARZON has been conducting information drives to promote community awareness on the illegal use, manufacture, selling, and distribution of PNP and military uniforms and insignias,” dagdag ni Nartatez.
