POLILIO, Quezon. Nailigtas ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang 67 pasahero ng lumulubog na bangka habang naglalayag sa karagatan sa Brgy. Macnit, Polillo, Quezon kahapon.
Umalis ang passenger boat na Jovelle Express 3 ang Patnanungan Port bandang 10 a.m. sa Real, Quezon, ayon sa ulat ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
“Coast Guard Station Northern Quezon reported that adequate life vests were provided to the passengers prior to leaving port with good weather conditions. While underway, said boat incurred damage to its forward part as a hard material accidentally hit the boat causing the motor banca to take in water,” ayon sa ulat ng Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog.
Sakay ng bangka ang 60 pasahero, pitong crew at kargamentong 15 styrofoam boxes ng sari-saring isda.
Bandang 1 p.m. nang makakuha ng mensahe ang Coast Guard Sub Station Patnanungan mula sa isa sa mga pasahero tungkol sa masamang kalagayan ng kanilang bangka.
“The Coast Guard immediately dispatched their Deployable Response Group and departed Patnanungan Port onboard Motor Bianca ‘Leonor Dos’ and established contact with motor banca ‘AdaJay’ which was rendering assistance to Jovelle Express 3 at the incident area. Likewise, Coast Guard Station Northern Quezon directed its sub-station in Polillo to proceed at said barangay to render assistance,” dagdag pa ng Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog.
Agad na inutusan ng Coast Guard Station Northern Quezon ang sub-station Polillo na magtungo sa nabanggit na barangay upang maghatid ng tulong.
Dinala ang mga sinagip na pasahero sa barangay hall ng Macnit, Polillo at nasa mabuting kalagayan na ngayon.
Walang naitalang patay o nawawala sa mga nakasakay sa bangka sa ngayon. Nakatakdang ihatid ang mga pasahero at crew sa kanilang port of destination.
