SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna. The San Pablo City Youth Fair, held on September 17, 2023, at SM San Pablo, was a resounding success as it brought together the city’s vibrant youth population to celebrate their achievements, discuss critical issues, and chart a path towards a sustainable future.

The highlight of the event was the State of the Youth Address delivered by Michael Madriaga,the co-chair of San Pablo City Youth Development. In his address, Madriaga highlighted the accomplishments of the city’s youth and outlined the initiatives aimed at further empowering them. He stressed the importance of unity and active participation in shaping the future of San Pablo City.

The event commenced with the signing of a manifesto, where the youth participants collectively voiced their commitment to making positive changes in their community. This powerful display of  unity set the tone for the rest of the program.

One of the most significant moments of the day was the awarding of the JCI Youth Leadership Award by JCI Rachelle Reginaldo. This prestigious award recognized exceptional young leaders who have made a difference in their communities. It served as a testament to the outstanding contributions of San Pablo City’s youth to society.

The program also featured a compelling talk on the occasion of International Youth Day 2023, with a focus on “Green Skills for Youth towards a Sustainable World.” Michael Cernitchez delivered an engaging and informative presentation, emphasizing the importance of equipping young people with the skills and knowledge needed to address environmental challenges and promote sustainability.

The San Pablo City Youth Fair drew attendees from various youth sectors across Laguna, reflecting the event’s regional significance in promoting youth engagement and development. The support of organizations like the JCI San Pablo 7 Lakes, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – San Pablo City, Department of Education – Youth Formation Office of San Pablo City, members of the San Pablo Youth Development Council, and corporations played a pivotal role in ensuring the event’s success.

Speaking about the event, Michael Madriaga said, “The San Pablo City Youth Fair is more than just a gathering; it’s a platform for our youth to shine, share their ideas, and drive positive change. We are grateful for the support we’ve received from the community and organizations like the San Pablo 7 Lakes Jaycees and all youth organizations in the city, who share our vision of empowering the youth.”

The event concluded on a high note, with participants leaving inspired and motivated to take an active role in building a brighter and more sustainable future for San Pablo City and beyond.
