SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna. The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo (PLSP) marked its 24th Graduation Ceremony with a grand celebration at the San Pablo Convention Center in Brgy. San Jose, San Pablo City. The event, held in two sessions—morning and afternoon—was graced by prominent figures including San Pablo City Mayor Vicente Amante and his wife, Laguna vice gubernatorial bet Gem Castillo Amante, Laguna Representative (3rd District) Loreto “Amben” Amante, Cavite Representative (2nd District) Lani Mercado Revilla, and Senator Imee Marcos.

Founded by Mayor Amante during his previous term on March 19, 1997, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo was established with the goal of providing quality education for all. Mayor Amante’s vision has since transformed into a thriving institution that continues to produce graduates equipped to contribute to their communities and the nation.

The morning session commenced with the traditional processional march, followed by the singing of the national anthem and an invocation. Mayor Vicente Amante delivered the opening remarks, congratulating the graduates on their achievements and encouraging them to contribute positively to their communities. “This is not just an end, but the beginning of your journey as responsible and productive citizens,” he said.

Laguna Rep. Loreto “Amben” Amante, in his keynote address, emphasized the importance of education in nation-building and urged the graduates to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience. “You are the future leaders of our country. Your education is your greatest weapon to create change and make a difference,” he stated.

Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado Revilla who represented her husband, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Senator Imee Marcos also addressed the graduates, sharing their insights and experiences. Rep. Revilla highlighted the role of education in personal development and societal progress, while Senator Marcos spoke about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the new graduates. “Your journey doesn’t end here. Embrace the challenges, seize the opportunities, and always strive for excellence,” Senator Marcos advised.

District Representative Dan S. Fernandez of Santa Rosa City, an inspiring gubernatorial candidate for Laguna in 2025, delivered a stirring keynote address at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo’s 24th Graduation Ceremony. With a brief yet powerful message, Fernandez praised the graduates for their commitment and resilience, underscoring the transformative role of education in shaping a better tomorrow. His participation enriched the celebratory occasion, urging the graduates to strive for excellence in their endeavors and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

The event continued with the awarding of diplomas to the graduates, a moment filled with pride and joy for the students and their families. The top graduates were recognized for their academic excellence and received special awards.

The afternoon session mirrored the morning’s proceedings, ensuring that all graduates had the opportunity to celebrate their achievements in the presence of distinguished guests and university officials. The event concluded with a message from PLSP President Sigfredo C. Adajar, LPT, PhD who congratulated the graduates and reminded them of their responsibilities as alumni of the university. “Carry the values and knowledge you have gained from PLSP wherever you go. Be ambassadors of our university and continue to make us proud,” she said.
