Naglabas ang Department of Health (DOH) ng paglilinaw sa sitwasyon ng COVID-19 sa 26 na lugar na nasa Alert Level 2 status hanggang sa katapusan nitong buwan.
Ayon sa pahayag ng DOH kahapon, sinabi nila na ang mga lugar “were not escalated from Alert Level 1; rather, these have maintained their Alert Level 2 status since June 2022,”
Binanggit din ng DOH na ang Alert Level 2 status sa mga nasabing lugar ay hindi dahil sa pagtaas ng kaso ngunit dahil hindi pa nakakamit ang kinakailangang vaccination target.
“While these areas have reached low risk classifications for cases and utilization rates, these have vaccination rates lower than 70 percent of the target total and/or 70 percent of the total A2 population (senior citizens). Meeting these targets will allow these areas to be de-escalated to Alert Level 1,” sabi pa ng DOH.
Ayon sa ahensya, patuloy itong nakikipagtulungan sa local government units ng mga natukoy na probinsya at lungsod na taasan ang kanilang COVID-19 vaccination coverage.
Binanggit din ng DOH na walang probinsya o lungsod ang itinaas sa Alert Level 2 mula sa Alert Level 1 mula noong Enero 2023.
Ang mga lugar na inilagay ng COVID-19 task force sa Alert Level 2 hanggang April 30 ay Benguet, Ifugao, Quezon Province, Palawan, Camarines Norte, Masbate, Antique, Negros Occidental, Bohol, Cebu Province, Negros Oriental, Leyte, Western Samar, Lanao Del Norte, Davao De Oro, Davao Del Norte, Davao Del Sur, Davao Occidental, North Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, Dinagat Islands, Basilan, Maguindanao, Sulu, at Tawi-Tawi.
Nanatili namang nasa “manageable level” ang healthcare utilization rate ng bansa, ayon pa sa ahensya.
“The DOH continues to monitor our health system capacity to ensure that Filipinos can continuously avail of healthcare services. While some hospitals have reported some increases in admission, no hospital has reported full capacity,” dagdag pa nito.
Muli namang pinaalalahanan ng DOH ang mga Pilipino na magpabakuna laban sa COVID-19.
“The DOH continues to encourage those that are still unvaccinated, unboosted, or under-boosted to get the vaccines as soon as possible while it is still free of charge, especially for senior citizens,” ayon sa DOH.
