Empowering Local Farmers: DTI-Laguna Launches “Kabalikat Sa Kabuhayan” Program in San Pablo City

San Pablo City, Laguna. In a significant stride towards promoting sustainable agriculture and empowering local farmers, the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) collaborated with esteemed organizations and government agencies to launch the “Kabalikat Sa Kabuhayan” (KSK) on Sustainable Agriculture Program. The much-anticipated event took place on May 9, 2023, at the picturesque C.G. Brion Village Phase 2, nestled in Brgy. San Lucas 1, San Pablo City, Laguna.

The program launch witnessed the convergence of key stakeholders, including the DTI-Laguna’s Negosyo Center San Pablo City, SM Foundation, Inc., SM Supermalls, SM Market, MoCA Family Farm RLearning Center, Inc., City Government of San Pablo, and partner agencies such as the Department of Agriculture, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Science and Technology, and Department of Tourism.

The objective of the “Kabalikat Sa Kabuhayan” program is to equip local farmers from the City of San Pablo with the necessary skills and entrepreneurial mindset to establish and manage agri-based businesses successfully. DTI-Laguna, in its commitment to supporting and empowering the farming community, pledged to assist 25 local farmers during the program’s launch.

One of the core aspects of the program is transforming farmers into agripreneurs by providing them with knowledge on entrepreneurial mindset and marketing strategies. By arming farmers with these essential skills, DTI-Laguna aims to foster a new generation of agricultural entrepreneurs who can navigate the dynamic business landscape effectively.

The “Kabalikat Sa Kabuhayan” program is a collective effort to bolster sustainable agriculture practices and economic growth in San Pablo City. It recognizes the potential of agriculture as a viable business sector and strives to create a supportive ecosystem that nurtures agripreneurs and maximizes their chances of success.
