Nanguna si Laguna 1st District congressional aspirant Ann Matibag at ang Frontliners Ang Bida Partylist sa pangunguna ng first nominee nito na si Jayke Joson sa pamamahagi ng kalahating milyong pisong halaga ng goodies at cash sa mga biktima ng bagyong si “Odette” sa Visayas at Mindanao.
Dumalo sa isang Christmas Dinner for Cause na inorganisa ni Matibag at Joson ang 480 na chairmen, dating chairmen at councilors, Sangguniang Kabataan Officials, LGBTQ at Women’s Group mula sa 27 barangay ng San Pedro City noong Martes ng gabi.
“The people of San Pedro, Laguna and our partnership with Frontliners Ang Bida Partylist want to show the people of Visayas and Mindanao some love in desperate times especially that Christmas is near,” ayon sa 37 anyos na Laguna Board Member.
Nag ambag ng tig-dalawang daang piso ang mga dumalo sa nabanggit na hapunan. Samantalang iaambag ni Matibag at ang asawa nitong si Melvin Matibag na president at CEO ng National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) President and CEO Melvin Matibag ang isang buwan nilang sweldo sa isinagawang fundraising campaign.
“I have been waiting for this Christmas Season as I have been saving my salary and my allowance so my staff, my leaders and employees can receive extra bonus this Christmas, but it just happened that Odette, the super typhoon, devastated the lives of many Filipinos. So we decided to do this idea a Christmas Dinner for a Cause, which will benefit our the super typhoon victims,” dagdag pa ni Matibag.
Pinasalamatan din ni Joson ang mga barangay frontliners ng San Pedro, Laguna sa kanilang hindi pagsisikap sa panahon ng pandemya ng Covid-19, na nagbibigay ng 24/7 na tulong sa mga tao.
“Our frontliners are not only the doctors, nurses, medical staff, police, soldiers and food delivery boys that we have seen everyday, but our barangay workers who never sleep during these covid times are also our today’s true hero. They will also be part of our initiative,” ayon kay Joson said.
Nakipagsanib-puwersa si Matibag sa aktor na producer na si Joson dahil sa dedikasyon nitong pagsilbihan ang mga frontliners. Ipagpapatuloy ng Frontliners Ang Bida Partylist ang double hazard pay, paga abolish ang no pay, no work policy para sa mga may sakit na frontliners, at tax free allowance at libreng insurance policy.
