“Kapeng barako is the focus commodity of RIIC as this is an important commodity in the region. It would also help re-establish the branding and reintroduce barako coffee,” ang paliwanag ni Bagsit.
Ang kapeng barako (liberica) ay matapang na variety ng kape at karaniwang itinatanim sa mga lalawigan ng Batangas at Cavite.
Ang RIIC sa Calabarzon ay isang inisyatiba ng pakikipagtulungan ng DOST, Department of Trade and Industry, Batangas State University (BatStateU), NEDA, PCCI, na may suporta mula sa USAID STRIDE. Nangako ang DOST-Calabarzon ng Php1.4 million upang palakasin ito.
Ang DOST-Calabarzon at ang mga katulong na ahensya nito sa pagtatatag ng RIIC ay may layuning tumulong sa mga nasa pagtatanim at kalakalan ng kape sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng mga makabagong programa at serbisyo, at research and development sa mga micro, small at medium enterprises.
Pinakamalakas ang dagok ng Covid-19 sa sektor ng hospitality, travel at tourism. Ang epekto nito sa lipunan ay dapat din nating tingnan. Asahan natin na una sa prayoridad ng mga turista at bisita ang kaligtasan ng kanilang pamilya sa posibilidad na mahawa ng Covid-19.
Nakikita ko rin na ang mga turista at guests ay magiging matipid dahil sa pagbagsak ng purchasing power na sanhi ng pataas ng unemployment. Bago sila mamasyal ay pag aaralan muna nilang mabuti kung masusulit ba ang kanilang gagastusin sa pupuntahang lugar.
Kailangan nating tumingin sa bukas at maghanda sa pagharap sa bagong anyo ng turismo. Hindi madali o mabilis ito ngunit ang hospitality at tourism industry ay may kakayahang bumangon at biniyayaan ng matibay na gulugod. Ang kailangan lamang ay pag aaral at pagbuo ng mga bagong plano na aangkop sa mga bagong hugis ng industriyang ito.

Ang mga team ng MPTC ay nagsimulang maghanda ng may malakas na customer service at safety protocols habang inaasahan ang 11% na dagdag na motorista na uuwi sa kani kanilang lalawigan ngayong Undas.
Matapos paluwagin ang travel restrictions, sinimulan ng MPTC “Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko” (SMSK) sa kahabaan ng NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, C5 LINK, and CALAX from October 29 to November 2, 2021. Ito ay naglalayong magtaguyod ng maayos at ligtas na biyahe sa panahon ng Undas.
Mahigit na 1,200 patrol crews, traffic marshalls, security team at lane personnel ang itatalaga upang magbigay ng mabilis na tulong sa mga motorista. Magtatalaga din ng emergency medical team at incident response team sa mga kritikal na lugar sa mga expressway.

Metroid has always been one of Nintendo’s niche franchises. It had a devoted following since the NES days and to this day people are still playing the various kinds of Metroid games. Even with the devout following of this franchise, it was never one of Nintendo’s best sellers and will always be pushed into the sidelines for their bigger titles like Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Pokemon. But now it appears that Nintendo is giving the Metroid franchise a boost and making it go big this time around with “Metroid Dread.”
When I was younger, I had the chance to play through the end “Metroid: Samus Returns” and absolutely loved it that turned me into a Metroid fan. So, when the announcement of “Metroid Dread” came out last E3 2021, I was pretty hyped about the game and the footage they showed off looked phenomenal.
Metroid Dread is the 5th game in the mainline franchise and the end of the Metroid storyline. It is a direct sequel to Metroid Fusion where it revolves around the X Parasite – a symbiotic lifeform that enables it to copy and take the forms of other living beings that were assimilated into its DNA making them terrifying enemies for Samus, the hero in the game.
It started out with Samus getting news that the X Parasite was found on planet ZDR and decides to head out to find the source of the X Parasite. While in ZDR, Samus was attacked by a mysterious figure called Raven Beak. This then became the catalyst of the story as Samus has to find out who this Raven Beak is and its connection to the X Parasite. The basic storyline of this action-adventure affair is how to get stronger in order to progress and get bits of information from cutscenes and save room conversation with Samus’ AI named ADAM. Is’ a simple premise and quite interesting even though you need to read a bit more about the previous Metroid game stories to get an idea of Samus’ backstory.
Now, for the meat of Metroid Dread which is the gameplay. It is quite phenomenal. The combat and exploration scenes portray Samus as a badass who is not afraid to get her hands dirty. Her arsenal consists of different Beam weapons, missiles, bombs, and some newer abilities that allow her to traverse areas in a satisfying way. An example is the Phase Shift which allows her to teleport around the room in order to dodge an opponent’s deadly attack or to allow for extra airtime to reach a gap that could lead to a power-up. All of Samus’ weapons and gadgets play an important role in the story and allow her to get stronger and make the player feel like they are getting stronger alongside her. The parry mechanic that was first introduced in Metroid, Samus Returns, makes a return with a significant upgrade. You can now parry enemies while moving, in the air, or while even hanging from walls. They also made it more satisfying and more of a spectacle once you are able to pull it off on bigger enemies and bosses.
Exploration is great in that it allows you to get lost in the game absorbing its atmosphere and be able to figure out various environmental puzzles that will lead to extremely helpful power-ups such as Missile upgrades or Energy Tanks. My favorite type of puzzles is the Shinespark puzzles. Shinespark is a technique that you can learn in the game where Samus becomes an unstoppable force once you set it off. The Shinespark puzzles require precision and skill and once you are able to execute them flawlessly, it just feels great, and the rewards are well worth the effort.
The gimmick of Metroid Dread is with these new types of enemies called E.M.M.I. They are indestructible robots that will chase down Samus when entering certain areas in the game. The E.M.M.I.s are exceptionally agile and extremely ruthless. You are given only two chances to escape their clutches. Two chances sound a bit scant, but you would need to time those chances in order to escape and the timing on those E.M.M.I. captures are extremely precise that it feels like pure luck when you are able to escape an E.M.M.I.
I would also say that Metroid Dread has some of the best boss battles in Nintendo’s long history of making games. They will always challenge you and never let up. This will cause you to fail multiple times until you are able to figure out the timing and patterns of the bosses once you get enough attempts.
I have a few nitpicks with the game, but not enough to affect what I think of it. I think that” Metroid Dread” is one of my Game of the Year games for 2021. I do hope that this game sells well and blows away every expectation that Nintendo will consider it as one of its premier titles alongside Mario, The Legend of Zelda and Pokemon.
I highly suggest everyone with a Nintendo Switch to get this game if they are up for a challenge and to experience a masterpiece in game design. This game is something that everyone should experience and find out why fans of the series are very devoted to the Metroid franchise

Mapalad na maging bahagi ng kasaysayan sapagkat ako noon sa edad na 20 anyos ay empleyado ng Filinvest Credit Corporation at isa sa nag “credit-investigate” upang ma-“accredite” ang naulit na V. Amante Motors sa naulit na Credit Corporation. Approved agad sa aming mga bossing ang aplikasyon ni VBA sapagkat nakita ang parang kwitis na pag ilanglang sa pagtaas at pagtatagumpay ng kanyang pagawaan ng pampasaherong dyipney.
Kung hindi ako namamali ay umabot sa mahigit na isang daang passenger type jeepneys ang naibebenta kada buwan ng V. Amante Motors nang kasagsagan ng kasikatan nito. Buong bansang Pilipinas ang tumatangkilik dahil na rin sa katatagan at husay ng mga gawang dyipney ni VBA.

Hindi na dyipni ang binuo ni VBA mandiy ang kanyang mahal na Lungsod ng San Pablo. Gaya ng Fantastic Jeepney ay bumiyahe rin ang lungsod na matatag sa paglalakbay patungo sa kaunlaran at pagkakaisa. Nakilala rin sa buong Pilipinas ang husay at ganda nito at napantayan kung di man mahigitan ang ibang maunlad na lungsod ng ating bansa.
Kaalinsabay nito ay may mga ginawa rin mga “katuwang at katulong” si VBA upang maiabante ang hangaring pagpapaganda at pagpapaunlad ng ciudad. Mga ordinaryong taong naging lingkod bayan at sa pamamagitan ni VBA ay higit pa ang narating sa larangan ng pampublikong paglilingkuran.
Maaaring may ilang sasalungat pag wiwikaing ang mga nabanggit na lingkod bayan ay kapansin pansing naging maaalwan ang personal na pamumuhay. Maaaring nagmana ng malawak na lupain o dili kaya’y naging matagumpay ang pribadong paghahanapbuhay o ano pang ligal na kaparaanan?? Ano pa man ay talagang may halong swerte ang Gawang VBA!

Huwag natin paniwalaan ang kalimitang naririnig na kaya natuyo o hindi nagpatuloy sa paglago o namatay ang ating itinanim ay dahil wala tayong green thumb.
Ang green thumb gardening ay isang alamat lamang. Walang katotohanan ito sa aking pananaw. Pagdating sa paghahalaman ay walang likas na talino, kababalaghan o milagro. Kahit sino ay maaaring magtanim sa tamang kondisyon at panahon.
Lahat ng halamang itatanim ng ating mga kamay ay magiging mayabong kung may sapat tayong kaalaman sa kahalagahan ng uri ng lupa at halaman na ating itatanim maging ito man ay ornamental, gulayin, o namumungang kahoy.
Ang actual na karanasan, testimonya ng ibang tao, at mga babasahin tungkol sa agrikultura ay mahalaga upang magkaroon ng sapat na kaalaman sa paghahalaman.
Ngayong pandemic ay may sapat tayong oras para palawakin ang ating kaalaman. Magbasa, manood at mag sariling eksperimento kahit sa mga paso, sako o recycled containers. Kailangan natin ang ibayong sipag sa pagtatanim sapagkat tayo’y nasa panahon ng krisis.
There is a Filipino saying “Ang maniwala sa sabi-sabi, walang bait sa sarili”, meaning you do not take the word of a person hook, line and sinker because more often than not, people with ill motives would fabricate stories to get what they want. Sometimes, they play innocent while telling stories jam-packed with half-truth and half-lies so that they can easily sway the hearts and minds of the person listening.
Look at this scenario: a housemaid/caretaker of an old man who is not supposed to meddle with the domestic squabble between husband and wife would record the heated arguments between the two. She would send it to the couple’s children purposely to gain their trust so she can ultimately be financially secured. To retain her status as a “trusted” companion, she would tell lousy stories with the malicious intention of painting the wife black so she would appear sparkling white. Work of a genius? No! It’s the work of the devil.
This roguish scheme is also exercised by dirty politicians every election season. Notice how a political wannabe would throw tons of dirt against his opponents to win the votes of the voting public. Some would even engage in dirty tricks like saying that the strongest contender already withdrew from the race or was declared a nuisance candidate by the COMELEC. All this give credence to the belief that politics is the dirtiest game created by men.
When confronted by controversies, whether inside the family or in a larger community, it is best to remember what Dr. Jose P. Rizal had written to the women of Malolos on February 22, 1889 while he was in London. The letter which I consider timeless, applies not only to the women of Malolos but to all Filipinos. Part of the reflection on the letter which was translated by Adana Reyes says: “A Filipino woman should educate herself; should know how to preserve her dignity and honor; that faith is not merely reciting long prayers…but rather it is living the real Christian way, with good morals and good manners.”
Rizal wanted us to have critical thinking. When someone tells us a story about other people, think! Do not simply jump into conclusion and immediately abhor the subject without conducting any inquiry or investigation. Even in Court, the judge listens first to testimonies of witnesses under oath in criminal cases and weighs documentary evidence in civil cases before rendering judgment.
Believing the narratives of a rumormonger whose hidden agenda is to destroy the beautiful relationship of people around her deserves no less than a just chastisement from heaven. In my one-centavo opinion, this kind of person should not be trusted because trust should be given only to those with clean hearts and unsoiled minds. In one of the movies on espionage I watched lately, the protagonist said to his crew: “Trust no one, even the laundry woman.”
