Itinalaga bilang bagong associate justice ng Korte Suprema si dating Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Antonio T. Kho Jr., kinumpirma ng Malacañang nitong Miyerkules.

Sinabi ni Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, acting presidential spokesperson, na nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang appointment paper ni Kho kahapon.

“We wish Associate Justice Kho success in the Supreme Court, and we are confident that he will continue to dispense justice to every man, woman, and child with integrity, impartiality, and fairness,” ayon kay Nograles sa isang statement.

Kinumpirma rin ng abogadong si Brian Hosaka, public information officer ng Supreme Court na natanggap na ng High Court sa pamamagitan ng Office of Chief Justice, Alexander Gesmundo, ang appointment papers ni Kho kahapon din.

Si Kho ay nagretiro kamakailan bilang commissioner ng Comelec, ay papalit sa nabakanteng posisyon ni Rosmari Carandang, na nagretiro noong Enero.

Si Kho ay nagsilbi rin bilang undersecretary ng Department of Justice bago ang kanyang panunungkulan sa Comelec.

Kinumpirma na rin ng abogadong si Brian Hosaka, public information officer ng Korte Suprema at natanggap na ng High Court sa pamamagitan ng Office of Chief Justice, Alexander Gesmundo, ang appointment papers ni Kho noong Miyerkules ng hapon.

Si Kho, na nagretiro kamakailan bilang commissioner ng Comelec at papalit sa iniwanang posisyon ni Rosmari Carandang na nagretiro noong Enero.

Nagsilbi rin si Kho bilang undersecretary ng Department of Justice bago ang kanyang panunungkulan sa Comelec.

 Si Kho ay fraternity brother ni Pangulong Duterte sa Lex Talionis Fraternity.
