Nagbabala si Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente laban sa mga manlolokona nagpapanggap na kamag-anak o kaibigan ng mga opisyal ng BI.
Ibinulgar ni Morente na nakatanggap siya ng mga ulat na may mga scammer ay nag-aalok ng mga iligal na serbisyo sa pamamagitan ng pagsisinungaling na may ‘malapit’ silang relasyon sa management ng BI.
“In one recent case, the scammer was able to get P200,000 from their victim, whose visa they alleged to ‘fix’. The victim was made to believe that the scammer is a relative of a BI official,” ayon sa kwento niya.
Muling nagbabala si Morente sa publiko na huwag maniwala sa mga naturang pahayag at agad na isumbong sa kinaukulan ang anumang ganitong alok.
“We do not condone illegal activities, and we are also considering seeking legal action against these scammers who besmirch the names of our officials and employees for their gain,” ayon sa kanya.
