Ilulunsad ng Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) ngayon, Pebrero 1, ang commemorative Year of the Tiger stamps bilang hudyat ng pagdiriwang ng Chinese New Year sa Seascape Village sa Pasay City.
Ang mga selyo, souvenir sheets, at official first day covers ng “New Year 2022: Year of the Tiger Stamps” ay makukuha sa Philatelic Counter ng Manila Central Post Office sa Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila.
Maaari ding bilhin ang selyo sa launching na magsisimula ng mamaya, 4:00 ng hapon.
“We wish the Chinese community peace, prosperity and love. This event will also give an opportunity for Chinese-Filipinos and Filipinos to enjoy and appreciate this celebration in a simple ceremony. I understand that some of the festivities in Manila were postponed for the second time this year due to the threat of the coronavirus,” ayon kay Postmaster General Norman Fulgencio sa isang news release kahapon.
Magsisimula ang Chinese Lunar New Year sa Pebrero 1.
Ang water tiger ay ang pangatlo sa 12 zodiac animal sign sa Chinese astrology. Ang huling taon ng Water Tiger ay noong 1962.
Ang iba pang mga taon ng Tiger ay 2010, metal; 1986, fire; at 1998, earth.
“We firmly believe that this Year of the Tiger, which is the symbol of courage and strength, will propel us to greater heights as the Post Office gears up to modernize its systems, innovate its products and services and immortalize the rich history, culture, talents and achievement of Filipinos around the world,” ayon kay Fulgencio.
