PNPAAAI, Metrobank awardees, AFP collaborate for community outreach program on Pag-asa island

KALAYAAN, Palawan. The Philippine National Police Academy Alumni Association Inc. (PNPAAAI) partnered with Metrobank Outstanding Filipino Awardees and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for the second installment of the Guro, Pulis at Sundalo (GPS2) Community Outreach Program on April 20, 2024, at Pag-asa Island in the Municipality of Kalayaan, Palawan.

Leading the delegation were Lakan Gilberto DC Cruz ’86, Chairperson of PNPAAAI and a recipient of Metrobank’s Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in the Service (COPS) in 1999 and 2007, along with other awardees Lakan Rodelio B. Jocson ’87 (COPS, 2014), Lakan Edgar Alan O Okubo ’92 (COPS, 2013), and Lakan Byron F Allatog ’01 (COPS, 2014). They were joined by General Romeo Brawner Jr. PA, Chief of Staff of the AFP, and Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos PN, Commander of the AFP Western Command (WESCOM), in conducting gift-giving activities and providing medical and dental services to the island’s residents, demonstrating their commitment to public service.

Also part of the delegation were Mr. Philip Dy from Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI), Dr. Ernelea Cao from the Network of Outstanding Teachers and Educators (NOTED), and representatives from TOPSOLDIERS, Police Officers Responsible for Organizing, Transforming, & Empowering Communities (PROTECT), One Meralco Foundation, Donate Philippines, and PNP.

The GPS program aims to inspire positive change and facilitate community development through the unified efforts of outstanding educators, soldiers, and police officers in the Philippines.
