I was a bookworm before, spending most of my idle time reading in my favorite corner of my kitchen with coffee and cigarettes at hand, but now I am more inclined to surfing the net and staying most of the time on FB. This way, I keep myself updated with what is happening locally and globally and I can monitor the activities of government officials and some of my friends who love to post about their travels, the foods they eat, the status of their relationships with their partners, etc.
About a month or two ago, I chanced upon on my Fb wall a lady vlogger who let loose a very controversial statement about someone in Malacanang who was allegedly meddling in the affairs/appointments of cabinet members whom she described as “snake in Malacanang”. She even said the snake is a woman. Her provocative statement spread like fire in the social media because it was picked up and made the subject of discussions by other vloggers drawing various comments and conclusions from netizens.
While the lady vlogger did not mention the name of the alleged “snake”, she gave clues that were so easy to decipher i.e., residing inside the palace; coiling around the President; sleeping under his armpit and many more which will all point to the First Lady. Granting arguendo that the FL is suggesting and/or helping the President to arrive at a particular decision, does that make her a snake? I beg to disagree! The wife has all the right to say something to her husband. For me, the statement of that Lady vlogger who is currently residing in the USA, is outrageous and contemptible!
The Lady vlogger professes to be a solid BBM supporter but from what I gathered from her vlogs, she is apparently envious of another vlogger and a known broadcaster who are close to the First Family. If she is not jealous, she would not venture on making irresponsible statements that will destroy the two and undermine the President while boasting about her wealth and lifestyle. It doesn’t make sense!
Following her vlogs vis a vis that of her nemesis is like watching telenovela with convoluted plot. It shows how shallow her reasoning is. It appears that she is talking trash and flaunting her lifestyle to be popular among those who follow her platform(s) in social media. The last thing I learned about the lady vlogger is that she is being avoided by other vloggers presumably because they are afraid to be indicted for cyber libel like Rappler’s Maria Ressa.
