QUEZON CITY, Philippines | October 29, 2026 | Qualified Social Security System (SSS) members with a monthly salary credit (MSC) of ₱10,000 or below will begin receiving up to ₱8,000 in government financial assistance on October 30 under the expanded coverage of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) UPLIFT Assistance program.

The SSS announced on October 28 that the assistance consists of four installments of ₱2,000 each, to be credited directly to beneficiaries’ registered SSS disbursement accounts. The expansion extends coverage to eligible members in the lower salary credit bracket, beyond those previously covered with MSCs of up to ₱20,000.

However, having a monthly salary credit of ₱10,000 or below does not automatically qualify a member for the aid. According to the SSS, beneficiaries must have paid at least one SSS contribution in 2025 or 2026, be included in the Philippine Statistics Authority’s 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) database, and have enrolled their disbursement accounts through the SSS Disbursement Account Enrollment Module within the prescribed period.

Members are advised to check their My.SSS accounts for official notifications on their eligibility.

Those who have not received any UPLIFT assistance will receive the full ₱8,000, while beneficiaries who previously received the first two installments totaling ₱4,000 will receive the remaining ₱4,000. Meanwhile, qualified members with an MSC of ₱20,000 are scheduled to receive their third and fourth installments, also totaling ₱4,000, on November 6.

The DSWD clarified in an August 6 statement that UPLIFT assistance is funded by the national government through its budget, not from SSS members’ contributions. The program was introduced to help low-income Filipinos cope with economic pressures, including rising fuel and commodity prices amid geopolitical tensions.

The SSS and DSWD urge members to rely on official announcements and verify their eligibility through authorized channels before expecting payment.
