Nagbabala ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ngayon, Nobyembre 18, 2021 sa lahat ng establisyemento na hindi sumusunod sa Minimum Public Health Standards (MPHS) at iba pang mga alituntunin na nasa ilalim ng Alert Level System na maaaring bawiin ang kanilang mga Safety Seal at masuspindi ang kanilang mga business permit dahil sa paglabag sa Covid-19 safety rules and regulations.
Ayon kay DILG Undersecretary at Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya, nakakatanggap ang departamento ng mga reklamo mula sa publiko hinggil sa mga establisyimento partikular sa operational capacity at ang hindi pagsunod sa utos na mga fully vaccinated lamang ang dapat makapasok sa mga indoor establishments kagaya ng mga restaurant, amusement park, recreational venue, fitness studio at mga gym.
“Many restaurants and indoor establishments are not checking the vaccination status of their customers and are violating the 50% operational capacity for indoor establishments and 70% operational capacity of outdoor establishments,” ayon kay Malaya.
Ayon sa kanya, ang mga establisyementong ito ay mahigpit na binabalaan ng pamahalaan na babawiin ang kanilang mga Safety Seals na magpapawalang bisa sa kanilang additional 10% operational capacity at mawawala din ang badge of honor na sila ay sumusunod sa lahat ng public health standards laban sa COVID-19. Idinagdag ni Malaya na ang mga repeat violators o ang mga walang Safety Seal ay irerekomenda ng DILG na bawian na ng business permit ng nakakasakop na local government unit (LGU).
Inutusan ng DILG ang lahat ng LGU at Philippine National Police (PNP) na magsagawa ng mahigpit na inspeksyon sa mga establisyemento upang matiyak na ang lahat ay sumusunod sa Covid-19 guidelines. Binigyan din ng direktiba ang mga LGU na mag isyu ng Show Cause Order laban sa mga lumalabag.
“We cannot be complacent at this time. Even if cases are going down and vaccination is going up, we cannot put our guard down. Look at Europe, their vaccination rate is high but they are now undergoing a new surge. Vigilance will prevent another surge,” ang mariing pahayag ni Malaya.
Humihingi ng tulong sa publiko ang DILG na ireport ang makikitang mga insidente ng paglabag sa MPHS sa mga kaukulang ahensya na may kinalaman sa pagbibigay ng Safety Seal kagaya ng: DTI, DILG, DOLE, DOT or LGU upang makapagsagawa ng imbestigasyon at maparusahan ang mga violators sa lalong madaling panahon, ayon pa rin sa report.
Maaaring isumbong ang mga lumalabag na business establishments na may Safety Seal sa kanilang LGU o sa DILG Public Assistance Hotline 892-50343; 892-51144; 09274226300; 09313849272.

Nakakalungkot isipin dahil ang mga naganap na drama ay pumatok sa ilang sektor ng botante na hindi nakakaunawa sa pagkukunwari sa likod ng mga scripted na pag aatubili sa pagtakbo. May bumili sa mga mala Teleseryeng acting upang i project na hindi sila ganoon ka ambisyoso ngunit diumano ay kailangan nilang tumugon sa “call of the people” kaya napilitang tumakbo na rin. Bravo!

Hindi dapat mawala ang delicadeza bilang haligi ng mabuting pamamahala, transparency, kawastuhan at pananagutan. Kailangan din nating magtiwala na alam ng ating mga public servant kung nasaan ang linya at kung kailan hindi dapat tumawid dito.
Marami sa atin ang nangangarap na mangibang bansa. Isa na ako doon at pinalad namang maging isang OFW sa loob ng 12 years. Kapag tayo ay nasa ibang bansa na ang pangarap naman natin ay kung kailan tayo uuwi for good sa Pilipinas.

Ginagawa rin itong atsara ni misis o kaya ay chutney. Ang mga dahon naman ay ipinambabalot ko sa manok at pork bago ihawin o iprito o ipaksiw. Nakakatuwa dahil bagong innovation ito na ginamit ko sa pagluluto.
Ang Mango Ginger o Cucurma amada ay mayroong mahalagang gamit sa Ayurveda at Unani medicinal systems. Ito ay appetizer, antipyretic, aphrodisiac, diuretic, expectorant, laxative at nakakatulong din sa biliousness o sakit sa pantog, pangangati, sakit sa balat, bronchitis, hika at pamamaga sanhi ng mga sugat.
Kada taon, pagpasok ng buwan ng Abril ay inihahanda ko na ang lupang pagtataniman ng Mango Ginger. Binubungkal at inaaro upang magkaroon ng tamang preparasyon ang lupang pagtataniman nito. Ang isang kilo nito ay pwedeng pagkunan ng 20 na binhi. Bawat isang binhi ay pwedeng maglaman ng 2 kilo. Inaani ito after 10 months.
Kaya mga kabukid, inaanyayahan ko kayong magtanim na rin ng Mango Ginger. Sigurado ako, masisiyahan kayo sa naiibang lasa nito – manamis namis na may banayad na floral at peppery overtone na katulad ng manggang hilaw.
Sa sabungan ay may espesyal na itinatanghal na pampasaya sa mga suking magsasabong. Ito ang karambola – labo labo ng magsasalpukan at mag uutasang mga tandang.
Ilang may taring manok ang sabay-sabay na bibitawan sa ruweda at hahayaang magpandale at magpapatayan. Ika nga’y matira ang matibay. Ang matitirang buhay matapos ang ‘rumble’ ang itatanghal na champion ng karambola.
Noong bagong nagsasabong ang may akda ay nakapanood ng isang karambola ng mga manok. Anim na tandang ang maglalaban laban. Ang lima ay manok na pula at isang kulay binabae – alanganing tandang, alanganin inahin. Sa binabaeng manok ako pumusta kahit dinidehado sa tawagan ng pustahan. Mas malaki ang tatamaan kapag ako’y mananalo.
Pagkabitaw sa limang manok na pula ay napatingin ang mga ito sa binabae na nasa kanilang gitna. Kung bakit nga sa gitna ng limang pula binitiwan ito ng may ari. Maging ang manok na binabae ay nagulat at tila nangulag sa ginawa ng kanyang amo. Dedma kunwari, nanuka na lang ng mga nakitang pwedeng makain sa lupa ng ruweda habang palingon lingon sa limang nakapaligid na mga katunggali.
Ito namang lima ang akala ay inahin na uubrang babahan at igawa ng itlog ang binabaeng nasa kanilang harapan. Sabay sabay na gumiri ang mga manok na pula upang upakan ng kasta ang pobreng binabae.
Marahil dahil sa mga taglay na kalibugan ay nagkakabanggaan sa pag giri lima at naging daan upang matanto nila na kaya nga pala sila ay nasa ruweda ay upang makipag patayan sa kapwa tandang.
Nagsalpukan na nga ang lima! Kung sino ang maharap ay palo dito, palo doon habang ang binabae naman ay tuloy lang ang pagtuka sa lupa.
Makalipas ang ilang minuto ay isang manok na pula na lang ang natirang buhay. Dahil sa mahabang pakikipagsalpukan ay tadtad na ng sugat ang buong katawan at namimilay na rin ang paang may tari. Nilapitan ito ng sistensyador ng sabungan at dahan dahang dinampot upang ilapit sa binabaing tapos ng manginain.
Kalalapag pa lang ng sistensyador sa sugatang tandang na kahit sugatan na at nanghihina ay umiiral pa rin ang kagustuhan makapang rape sa akala niya ay inahin na nasa harapan nya. Naglulupasay na ginirian ang kaharap na binabae na ikinagulat nito at nagpaalala na siya nga pala ay isang tandang na kaya nasa ruweda ay upang makipag patayan at ipanalo ang pusta ng kanyang amo.
Hindi pa man nakakadikit ang gumigiring kalaban ay pinupog na ng palo ng binabae ang manok na pula at ang resulta, ilang segundo lang ay utas agad ang katunggali. Champion sa Karambola ang binabae. Panalo kaming mga dehadista!

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) taking over Hollywood and introducing superheroes and superheroines that have made unknown Marvel franchises into household names, Marvel has been planning to give out their franchises to make big-budget games across different publishers. We have had successes such as the Spider-Man games developed by Insomniac Games and some disasters such as the Avengers game developed by Crystal Dynamics. I am glad to say that the Guardians of the Galaxy game is one of the best games I’ve played for 2021 because of its entertaining story and character development. It is a flawed game but the good outweighs the bad by a lot that it became an enjoyable experience all the way through.
The Guardians of the Galaxy game follows a motley crew of Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Drax, and Rocket Raccoon same as the MCU movies. For the story, this is at a point when the crew was is still somewhat new and has done a couple of missions already together but has yet to adjust to the “team” dynamic. The story is about how they are able to get together as a team and was able to save the galaxy from a gigantic threat. For the game, you just play as Star-Lord, the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy and it is up to you to decide certain scenarios play out and be able to command your teammates during combat. Dialogue in the game is great and it feels natural. The reactions and comments of your teammates feel realistic, and it becomes relatable in a way that you can feel attached to the team the longer you play. The jokes in the game are more subtle than in the movie with sight gags and how they build up to that joke is always a treat. The game also has a great cast of side characters that mix well with the Guardians.
Music in the game is a treat for fans in the 70s and 80s that they were able to get over 20 licensed songs in the game. Songs such as Iron Maiden’s Where Eagles Dare and Billy Idol’s White Wedding make some parts of the game very memorable. They even created a fictional band called Star Lord to accompany the licensed tracks. The graphics for the game are amazing in this game. Having some of the best facial tracking I have ever seen in a game, and it sort of gives an uncanny valley feeling due to how great the faces look. The environments are colorful and vibrant for a space adventure which is usually associated with being devoid of color in games.
For the gameplay of the game, I can see it has potential. Combat revolves around you controlling Star Lord and setting up combos and attacks using your teammates. Star Lord is used to maintain elemental damage using his twin blasters, Rocket Raccoon is great for crowd control damages, Groot is great for combo set-ups, Drax is great for stunning enemies and Gamora is great for dealing massive damage. Each one of them learn new moves the longer you play and some of them can even do unique actions based on certain scenarios in the combat. An example is if an enemy with a jetpack lands, you can get Gamora to throw her sword on the jetpack and cause it to malfunction. The problem with the combat is that it can get way too repetitive and can take way too long due to how pitiful the damage Star Lord can deal while waiting for your teammates’ actions to recharge. One cool aspect of the combat is Huddle mechanic. With that mechanic, you can stop combat for a bit and talk to your teammates regarding what is happening on the field, you are then given two choices regarding what your teammates have been saying. If you choose correctly, you get to buff the entire team with infinite health and faster charge times but if you choose incorrectly, only Star Lord gets the buff. Now what makes this mechanic amazing is that when you activate the Huddle mechanic, you will be treated to a random 80s song to accompany your battle. Something about hearing the “Final Countdown” or “Rick Astley’s Never Going to Give You Up” while shooting aliens gives the combat really fun moments and can curb the repetitiveness. I did wish that there was a way to make the Huddle mechanic happen more often though.
Besides the combat, there are puzzles and collectibles to find in the game. These collectibles can range from archives, possessions that belong to an individual Guardian or costumes. Now these collectibles can be hard to find and can require you to thoroughly explore the area to find them but they are worth the search. Especially the costumes as they represent their looks from the comics and other media they were in as well. Puzzles are fun as they make use of your teammates. Having Gamora cut down wires as she is the only one agile enough to reach them, having Rocket fit into small vents or hack devices to proceed, having Groot lift you up with his roots or even have Drax carry extremely heavy objects to one place to another.
Again, the Guardians of the Galaxy game is one of the best games to come out of 2021 and I really do hope that it gets a sequel down the line. Initially, the game had bad press due to the poor marketing and the distaste of the Avengers game was still lingering around but Guardians of the Galaxy proved itself and is one of the best gems of 2021. I highly recommend the game if you are a Marvel fan, an Action-Adventure fan or genuinely like video games and want to play something simpler and fun.
I have been monitoring the Report of SLPC President Sandy Belarmino re COVID 19 in my beloved San Pablo City and I am delighted to learn that we can achieve the “low risk” category anytime soon. Thanks to the City Health Office headed by Dr. James Lee Ho and his staff for a job well done, but the people must strictly follow the minimum health protocols prescribed by the Department of Justice lest there will be an upsurge in the number of infected people.
Christmas is fast approaching and we cannot afford another lockdown much more than spending the holiday season in a quarantine facility separated from our loved ones. You ought to think seriously about it. This pandemic is no joke. It is real and has brought deaths and exhaustion of family resources to many people of the world. At this point in time, your desire to attend parties, reunions and other mass gatherings must be stalled. There will be ample time to do that once this pandemic is over.
Bear in mind that the government, local and national, are doing its best to provide us with vaccines while the front liners are risking their lives to take care of those who are already infected. Imagine the colossal damage to our economy caused by this pandemic on top of the billions already spent by the government to address this plague and all that is being asked from us is simple obedience to health protocols! Can’t we not do that?
Let us not be attracted by the light like the moth nor be tempted by the sounds of revelries and festivities lest we end up in the ICU of some hospitals or in a crematorium. I may sound morbid but that is the reality nowadays. If we value life, we shall obey the health officials so we can enjoy all the holidays in the coming years. If we are healthy and alive, we can: see our children graduate from learning institutions; guide them in whatever endeavor they desire; enjoy the sight of our grandchildren sharing the food we cook; teach them how to pray, braid their hair and a lot more.
We were taught and I agree that patience is a virtue. From childhood to adulthood, we are oftentimes confronted by tough challenges in the family, in school, at work and even at play but because it is in our innate character as a Filipino to be resolute and strong, we survived the tests of time. This pandemic is an assault to our fortitude and resilience as a people. At the outset many have died because vaccine for this novel virus has not yet been invented and produced but God is good. In a span of one and a half years of waiting, vaccines from different countries arrived and millions had been inoculated.
Now that we are on our way to being free from this contagion, let us all follow the health protocols without being told. Let us convince our unvaccinated relatives and friends to register and submit themselves to vaccination after all, it is free. Who knows, by December we can already celebrate a very merry Christmas with our family and friends.
