SAN PABLO CITY, LAGUNA | Young leaders from Junior Chamber International (JCI) chapters across Southern Luzon will gather in San Pablo City from September 4 to 6 for San Pabluy SOLAC 2026, the Southern Luzon Area Conference hosted by JCI San Pablo 7 Lakes.
Carrying the theme “San Pabluy,” the three-day conference will bring together JCI members for leadership development, fellowship, competitions, business meetings and discussions on community development.
The opening ceremonies and welcome night at The Coco Palace Hotel will feature San Pablo cuisine, along with the Mr. and Ms. San Pablu’y SOLAC 2026.
Delegates will take part in area public speaking and debate competitions, as well as leadership seminars and skills-building workshops focusing on community impact, sustainable entrepreneurship and active citizenship. These activities will be held at Max’s Restaurant in Barangay San Francisco-Calihan.
General assemblies and business meetings are scheduled at CDC Cafe 1028, while sports activities will include basketball at Race Court and pickleball at PCKL’D Pickleball Cafe.
A Community Impact and Eco-Tourism Tour at Pandin Lake is also included in the program, giving delegates an opportunity to visit one of San Pablo’s Seven Lakes. The conference will conclude with a gala night and awards ceremony at the San Pablo Convention Center, where outstanding projects, local chapters and leaders from Southern Luzon will be recognized.
Leading the organization of the conference are Robin Estrellado, Area Vice President for Southern Luzon; Jessa E. Estrellado, Local Organization President of JCI San Pablo 7 Lakes; and Jan Audrey Lee Ho, SOLAC 2026 Conference Director.
The hosting of SOLAC is particularly significant for JCI San Pablo 7 Lakes, which has been part of the Philippine Jaycee movement since 1948. The chapter was organized on October 3, 1948, with its charter officers installed on November 13 of the same year at the roof garden of the then San Pablo City Hall. The chapter identifies itself as the third JCI chapter established in the Philippines, following JCI Manila and JCI Cebu.
According to the chapter’s historical account, one of its earliest community efforts was a cleanliness campaign that distributed more than 100 garbage cans around San Pablo City. The initiative reflected the organization’s early focus on encouraging civic responsibility and community participation.
More than seven decades later, JCI San Pablo 7 Lakes will again bring a major regional gathering to the city, this time welcoming young leaders from across Southern Luzon.
San Pablo, known as the City of Seven Lakes, is home to Sampaloc, Bunot, Palakpakin, Muhikap, Calibato, Pandin and Yambo. The lakes remain among the city’s best-known natural attractions and are an important part of its identity.
The city is also associated with agricultural produce such as lanzones and rambutan, as well as local food specialties including halayang ube and binayong hipon. These local flavors will be part of the experience prepared for delegates during the conference.
For JCI San Pablo 7 Lakes, SOLAC 2026 provides an opportunity not only to host a regional leadership gathering but also to welcome fellow Jaycees to a city with a long JCI history, distinctive natural attractions and a strong local identity.
