NEW YORK – Pop superstar Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are expected to hold a high-profile wedding celebration in New York over the Fourth of July weekend, with preparations around Madison Square Garden fueling widespread public interest, although neither the couple nor their representatives has officially confirmed the event.

According to Reuters, the anticipated celebration follows reports by the New York Post’s Page Six that the couple had already exchanged vows in a private ceremony attended by a small group of loved ones. Reuters said it was unable to independently verify the report, and Swift’s representatives had not responded to requests for comment.

Preparations at Madison Square Garden have intensified in recent days, with city permits authorizing street closures around the venue from July 2 through July 4. Reuters reported that the plans include an intimate gathering of about 100 guests followed by a larger celebration expected to host around 1,000 attendees.

The celebration coincides with New York City’s Independence Day festivities and the nation’s 250th anniversary commemorations. Authorities have also been managing extreme summer temperatures, prompting city officials to urge residents and visitors to take precautions during the heat emergency.

Swift, a 14-time Grammy Award winner, and Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs, began dating in 2023 after Kelce publicly revealed he had unsuccessfully tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet during one of her concerts. Their relationship quickly became one of the most closely followed celebrity romances in the world, with the couple announcing their engagement in August 2025.

Their public appearances at concerts, sporting events and award shows have generated significant media attention, with many commentators describing the pair as one of America’s most influential celebrity couples. The expected New York celebration has further heightened global interest, drawing fans and media crews to the city as preparations continue.

As of Friday, no official statement confirming the reported private marriage or the planned celebration had been released by Swift or Kelce, and Reuters said many details surrounding the event remain unverified.
